'ADIOS' Texas Snow!

Even as others states and cities are still wrestling with the cold winter, Texas is clearly saying goodbye to the snow. We experienced a little more than we expected this year, and for the first White Christmas we’ve had in many years in 09, having a second wave of snow in February was a really nice treat for us Texans.

Of course, when we get snow here, it doesn’t last very long… and that… is perhaps the beauty of our Texan winters. Yes, we don’t know how to navigate our ways through icy roads, and slushy bridges, and yes, we shut down all operations at the first sign of snow. But, we sure know how to enjoy those unusual days. Some of our fellow North Easterners really laugh at us, and probably call us wimps, for shutting everything down in what would seem like a normal winter day for them. But, Texans know how to enjoy those days and we certainly take advantage of the time we have with that funny thing they call “snow”. Again, because it’s not here to stay too long, we enjoy it! Following are some photos, some of them taken in the middle of the night, around 4:30 a.m.
